THE REHABILITATION MEDICINE GROUP
The Rehabilitation Medicine Group comprises four dynamic, multidisciplinary centers headed by medical doctors specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Established in 1986, with locations in New York and New Jersey, our state-of-the-art equipment and procedures provide comprehensive diagnostics and treatment alternatives for people with musculoskeletal disorders. We are committed to helping each patient achieve maximum living potential.

PHYSIATRY
Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians or physiatrist's (pronounced "fizz-Eye-ah-trist") are specialists in diagnosing and treating problems of the musculoskeletal and neurological system. Through non-surgical intervention the physiatrist evaluates, prescribes, monitors and coordinates the rehabilitation needs of the patient. From an athlete with a knee injury, to an injured worker with lower back pain, an executive with tennis elbow or a person with whiplash after a motor vehicle accident, the goal of the PM&R physician is to treat the whole person not just the patient's symptoms.

The founder and the director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Group, heads an interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals including physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists and social workers. Our goal is the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases and injuries of the nerves, muscles and joints. Since the Physiatrist is concerned with all areas of rehabilitation - social, vocational, and medical, we strive to significantly increase the overall quality of the life of our patients.
